Jeff Sessions Goes On Racist Rant About History Of White Law Enforcement (VIDEO)

-

Donald Trump’s attorney general, Jeff Sessions, just committed the crime of going off script — at least in this White House, it’s a crime. After all, that is when Trump’s administrators and Trump himself step all over their intended message. The AG really screwed up this time.

Sessions spoke before the National Sheriffs’ Association winter meeting, CNN reported:

‘I want to thank every sheriff in America. Since our founding, the independently elected sheriff has been the people’s protector, who keeps law enforcement close to and accountable to people through the elected process. The office of sheriff is a critical part of the Anglo-American heritage of law enforcement.’

Reporter for Vice News, Tess Owen, caught part of AG Sessions’ speech. She covers domestic extremism, civil rights,
law enforcement. She tweeted:

This AG has been embroiled in controversy, since he began. Yet he still has managed to hang onto his job. He met with Russian Ambassador to the U.S., Sergey Kislyak, twice, then lied about it in his confirmation hearing. He said he had had no contacts with Russians during the campaign. Sessions had to recuse himself from managing the Robert Mueller investigation into Russia meddling in the campaign for that very reason.

Sessions joked about the KKK (Ku Klux Klan), saying that he thought they were alright – until he heard that they smoked marijuana. Sessions is highly anti-pot, according to BBC News.

The AG also reportedly called a black assistant U.S. Attorney “boy.” Then he told the man to watch how he talked to “white folks.” Sessions denied the remark.

Martin Luther King’s widow, Coretta Scott wrote a letter criticizing him, the BBC reported:

‘(He) used the awesome powers of his office in a shabby attempt to intimidate and frighten elderly black voters.’

Then, the AG seemed to go off script during his speech:

‘We must never erode this historic office. The sheriff is a critical part of our legal heritage.’
